Mother’s Day Gift Guide – Part One

If you’re looking for a special treat for your mum / step-mama / mother of your brood this Mother’s Day (Sunday 27th March), be sure to visit our inspiring online directory, the Makers Marketplace.

Featuring a wealth of brilliant independent makers offering a choice collection of unique gifts, there’s a smile-inducing little something for every kind of mum and every kind of budget, all easily ordered from the comfort of your sofa, and delivered direct to your (or your mum’s) door.

We’ve put together a handy Mother’s Day Gifts category on the directory, but here are a few examples of some of the lovely stuff on offer…

If your mum loves a pop of colourful florals, pick her up a gorgeously vibrant risograph print from pattern designer Mahin Hussain, or a joyous cushion cover (complete with double-sided zingyness!) from super-fun fabric fans Republic of Happy. A delightful touch of happy!

For a divine treat for the senses, a hamper of heavenly-scented Wylder Naturals small-batch soaps would be just the ticket, as would some custom-blended fine fragrance courtesy of Breathe & Be Incense. Both brands are 100% natural, vegan and cruelty-free.

To add a bit of jolliness to mum’s day, jungle-inspired prints are a good go-to. Pajama Pantry – purveyors of the coolest PJs in town – have loads of tropical textile designs to choose from (including these terrific tigers!) and Rosie Reiter depicts a whole range of exotic animals, birds and botanics in her beautiful art prints.

A one-off gift is always special, so take a look at Jess Chan Textiles, who creates sumptuous accessories and homewares using bundle dying and natural inks, and Moon Fire Clay, whose ceramics get their unique markings from the plants used in the smoke-fire process. The nature of these makers’ techniques means no two of their creations are ever the same!

We’ll publish Part Two of our Mother’s Day Gift Guide in the next few days, featuring more makers to seek out – keep an eye on our blog for more details!
