Posted on 31st May 2022
Every Friday, I will share with you an interview asking independent champions to share with us their love for small brands and indie shops. This week’s Small Business star is Paula from the WOMAD (World of Music, Arts & Dance) Festival. Have a read!
If you are interested in sharing your love for indie, please contact Geraldine.
Please introduce yourself and tell us what you’re up to at the moment
Paula Henderson, Artist Programmer for WOMAD. At this moment it is dealing with a mountain of paperwork – contracts, payments, visas, riders, all to be sorted for the WOMAD Festival in July.

Please tell us why you love shopping with independent businesses
My love of shopping with independent business started because of the festival. When you go around the beautiful markets finding unique pieces it makes shopping a joy as well as supporting small independent companies.
Have you got favourite indie makers and brands you’d like to share with us?
I recently moved and bought a beautiful table from Penny Wood Bespoke, I also love jewellery so go to Red Bird Makes, My Bear Hands and May Hofman.
Do you visit markets regularly? If so, please let us know which ones and why you love them?
I haven’t been to many recently, but I went to the Frome Independent in April which is the 1st Sunday of the month.
