Meet the Maker – Eleanor of Eleanor Rose Prints

Tell us a bit about yourself, where you live and what you create?

My name is Eleanor Rose, I’m a Bristol based illustrator, specialising in printmaking. My work combines traditional relief printmaking with digital editing and colouring to create a visual language which is simultaneously traditional and modern.

My work often explores themes of nature and sustainability, with a particular focus on bringing attention to the beauty around me, in an environmentally conscious way.

I sell both original lino prints and digitally coloured prints in markets and shops across Bristol, as well as creating illustrations for editorial projects and brands through the illustration agency that represents me called The Artworks.

What local events or markets do you love to participate in or visit and why?

If you like printmaking or would like to try out different methods of printmaking for the first time, Blue Roll Press run really special printmaking workshops. They are beginner friendly and also a lovely environment to meet other print enthusiasts. Their workshops range from lino printing, etching to fabric printing. I would recommend it as a lovely experience for yourself or as a present for someone with a print interest.

Are there any local spots (shops, cafés, parks) that you’d recommend people visit and why?

My favourite shop at the moment would be the new Windmill Hill Makers Shop, stocking products from local makers. It really helps us connect with our community and help people shop local.

My favourite café is the Society Café on the harbour. Not only is it in a beautiful location on Bristol’s harbourside, the workers are lovely and their coffees and cakes are delicious.

My favourite park is Victoria Park. It’s right by my house and I love seeing the seasonal changes.

What local events or markets do you love to participate in or visit and why?

I really love the Tobacco Factory Sunday Market Tobacco Factory Market which is on every Sunday, 10am-2:30pm. It has a beautiful range of stalls, delicious food and has a lovely inclusive feel.

I also love the Windmill Hill Market, located at the Farm, which has such a supportive and friendly community. For example, through selling at the Windmill Hill Market, I have access to the Bristol Council funded Bristol Business and Enterprise Scheme which supports new businesses.

What’s your favourite thing where you live that people might not know about?

Totterdown Arts Trail is Bristol’s longest running arts trail. On Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th November, local artists will be opening up their homes or selling their work in community venues across Totterdown. It’s a really special art trail where you get a glimpse into local artist’s lives and can buy their work. I’ll be selling in a community venue this year called The Harbour (BS4 2EG).

Can your products be found in shops?

My work can be found in the Windmill Hill Makers Shop, located on the Farm, open Monday – Sunday, 10am-3pm.

I am also stocked in Sparks Bristol with Culla Collective, selling illustrations and printed goods from artists from around the world, open Tuesday – Sunday, 10am-6pm.

My whole range can be found on my online shop.
