Bristol based author Lucy Munday loves to write exciting and empowering environmental stories for children and adults, in both non-fiction and fiction.
Her first self-published children’s picture book, “Maya in the Rubbish Sea” is created with illustrator Simona De Leo and was published in December 2020. Maya is a little girl and a keen swimmer. On her underwater adventures with best Finn, (a talking Parrot Fish!) she helps her marine friends with their man-made problems.
The book received the Love Reading For Kids, ‘Indie Books we Love’ badge soon after publication and is stocked at a range of distributors across Bristol and London, as well as being available online. The book is a great way to introduce children to climate themes in a safe and uplifting way.
Maya was printed on Carbon Captured paper in the UK and packaged in fully recycled and recyclable card sleeves. Lucy is also partnered with UK ocean conservation charity Sea Changers.
Lucy’s works can also be found in a variety of publications: her poetry has appeared in the book, Climate Stories in 2018 and she has written for a range of news, magazines and websites. She is planning book number two and is available for hire as a freelancer.
